Volkswagen has been making the VW California for over 30 years and in that time they have had added many features to make your camping trips an enjoyable and stress-free experience. There is a lot to cover!

On collection day we will show you all the features of the campervan so that you can get the most out of your adventure, but with so many nifty things the campervan can do, it can take up to 45 minutes to do a proper walkthrough.

HOW TO USE THE INTERNAL SHOWER

There is nothing better than a nice warm shower to kickstart the morning or to remove the sand or mud off after a long day. The VW Grand California has a light and airy shower compartment with an adjustable shower head and temperature controls to ensure you get the invigorating shower you deserve. this video shows how easy it is to set up and use the internal shower.

HOW TO USE THE MAIN CONTROL PANEL

The Grand California has a touch-sensitive main control panel where you can view, adjust and monitor all of the important features of your motorhome. When not in use, the unit conveniently turns itself off but will light up at the touch of a finger. Allowing you to discover current information about your Grand California and turn functions on or off. HOW TO USE THE BEDS

Having a comfortable place to sleep is an important part of van life. That’s why the new Volkswagen Grand California comes with a double bed and in-built, easy to access storage, just another thing VW have thought of to make your van more like home. Ready to use at a moment’s notice the double bed easily converts from sleeping to storage mode to give access to the storage lockers under the bed. This video shows you more about the versatile feature.

HOW TO SET UP THE OVER-CAB BED

Your Grand California also comes equipped with an over-cab bed so that smaller adventures can join in on all the fun! Specifically designed for people less than 175cms (5′ 7"), this stowable, retractable bed easily deploys to make a top bunk. With touch dimmable lighting and accessible USB charging points, it’s a real cosy corner to get a good night’s sleep.

HOW TO SET UP THE AWNING

Allowing you to spend more time in the great outdoors, the easily retractable awning creates protection from the baking sun or light rainfall. Please note, that it does not provide protection for all weather conditions such as heavy rainfall or thunderstorms. The awning should be put away in any adverse weather conditions and should definitely be put away at night, just in case of the great changeable UK weather. The Grand California keeps you comfortable whatever the weather with its powerful onboard heating system. Accessible via the touch-sensitive intuitive display the heating system can be adjusted to suit your personal comfort levels. It’s efficient and quiet, and will always keep you toasty warm. HOW TO USE THE ELECTRIC SYSTEM

Your Grand California has a number of charging points around the vehicle. It is always preferable to “hook-up" to the mains on the campsite, especially if you want to run some of the optional extras on the Grand California such as the air conditioning system or power your high consumption devices such as electric kettles or hair dryers. Of course, you can also use the campsite electricity to power the heating and hot water, perfect for keeping your gas consumption low. You can learn more about this by watching the video.

HOW TO OPERATE THE ELECTRIC STEP

VW have made it super easy to hop in and out of your motor home with this convenient step. Electrically operated, the step retracts and extends as you operate the side door or can be configured to remain extended permanently when you are parked up at your location of choice.
